Cordless drills provide many benefits over normal drills. There is no need for that big pile of mangled wires in the back of your truck. They are flexible, portable, and are the new industry standard. They used to be very expensive, but today everything is wireless so it is a must if you are a carpenter or handyman.
This is the most basic of hand held power drills. It is a simple electric drill with one speed and one direction. It is mainly good for drilling holes in wood, metal, plastic, and soft metals. It is not the ideal choice of drill to use for applications such as driving screws. Since the speed is not variable and the drill only operates at a higher RPM, you would likely either strip the screw head or snap the head off the screw if you tried. You will not likely find many of these around today as their uses are rather limited.
Why is this important? If you have a relatively new PC the only problem you will get are error messages relating to the clock on start up. No big deal. If your PC is older then a low battery could be a nightmare. I had a PC which once lithium ion stocks every few months refused to boot. Rather than take the PC in for repair or start replacing parts myself the first thing I did was look at the BIOS settings. It was soon obvious that the BIOS settings were corrupt (wrong bus speed). I put a volt meter on the battery and sure enough it was reading 2.2 volts.
The first thing to know is that simple battery care can enhance the performance and useful life of your cell phone battery. Did you know that a cell phone battery should last for up to 400 charge/discharge cycles? That's quite a bit. How does that break down? If you charge your phone each night, your battery will last 12-15 months. If you are only charging twice a week, your battery should last 2-3 years. So, if you can get away with charging less, then that's a sure fire way to getting longer life.
Microsoft is soon to release their latest graphic Lithium battery stocks game version of the Xbox with the all new Project Natal which includes a collection of features that are down-right spooky. Just your regular old voice recognition, and face recognition and a virtual character who can also recognize your emotional state. Mix in some drop dead graphics and amazing (I mean jaw dropping) virtual interaction and if you aren't transported back to planet Klingon then you're long due for a Vulcan Mind-meld.
What are you going to be using the drill for? Let's say that you are planning on building some light furniture and maybe will use the drill on weekends mostly. You probably don't need a super powerful drill with the most expensive battery technology. You could probably get by with a 12 volt drill, no need for hammering action, and you could probably do fine with a NiCad battery as opposed to Lithium Ion. Sure, a Lithium mines Ontario Ion battery would be really nice, and would charge faster, but if you aren't planning on using the drill for continuous hours at a time you could save a few bucks in this department.
So how long does it last? Anything from 3 to 9 years if you search this question on Google. Everyone has a different opinion. In my experience about 6 years is the average. It's basically a large watch battery and is constantly supplying a trickle of power to the motherboard. Just like many of my watches the battery can last 2 years or up to 6 years (Fossil watches don't seem to last long for me for some reason). How long was the PC in the warehouse before it was delivered? And, how long was the motherboard in the warehouse before it was installed in the PC?
Third, it is quite important to fully charge the battery every time, also to run the battery to be empty every time. The reason is the battery will lose charge day after day if the battery in your notebook is a nickel metal hydride. Therefore, your battery will dies a certain days later and you need to order a new one. Your work will be affected and money will come out of your pocket. Shortly, you can keep your battery in a good condition for a long time if you do as what have mentioned above.
